Purpose of the role

Manage a team of accounts staff whilst providing a high-quality accountancy and advisory service to a portfolio of clients (principally owner managed SME businesses within various sectors).


• Working closely with the Client Partner to provide high quality service to clients
• Completing and review of non-audit statutory accounts and related corporation tax returns for a portfolio of clients in a timely manner
• Reviewing the work of fellow team members including accounts and VAT returns
• Providing on the job training to team members where applicable
• Providing strategic advice to clients
• Building strong relationships with the client
• Preparing self-assessment personal tax returns and Form P11D’s
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients where applicable
• Familiar with cloud-based accountancy software and providing advice and support to clients and staff
• Preparing cashflow forecasts and financial projections
• Experienced in preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Any other reasonable duties necessary for the role

Education and Experience Requirements

• Qualified ACCA / ACA (preferred but not essential)
• 2 years’ Managerial experience in a Practice setting (preferred but not essential)
• Strong working knowledge of FRS102 and FRS105
• Proficiency with office software, IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, CCH

Personal Skills and Attributes

• Strong communications skills
• Strong organisational skills and experience in meeting deadlines
• Comfortable working in a team environment
