We are looking to increase our complement of Outsourcing Assistants within our expanding accountancy department in Bury.

Your role will be to deal with a varied portfolio of clients. You will have strong technical ability and excellent client-facing skills.


  • Complete reconciliations and adjustments to produce accurate information.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns under various VAT schemes.
  • Advise clients of liabilities.
  • Knowledge of journal adjustments.
  • Attend Xero workshops and events.
  • Assist clients with payment runs and credit control.
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Liaise with the manager and the client to carry out assignments.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Keep client system’s up to date and give support where necessary.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or nearly qualified).
  • Have at least 2-3 years in practice.
  • Possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be IT literate, including Microsoft products (Xero, Sage and Quickbooks experience is desirable).
  • Have the ability to work using your own initiative and to be able to work under pressure from time to time to meet deadlines.
