Heeral’s First Six Months at DTE Corporate Finance

We have loved having Heeral Ruparelia as part of the DTE Corporate Finance team. She has really impressed everyone with her dedication and hard work. We certainly look forward to watching her grow and develop!

We recently caught up with Heeral to discuss the highlights of her time at DTE so far. Here is what she had to say:

How have you found working in the corporate finance team?

I have really enjoyed my time in the corporate finance team over the past six months. It has definitely kept me on my toes, and I feel like I have learnt a lot in a short space of time.

What do you like most about your position?

The aspect I like most about my position is the variety. I have been able to work on a range of different projects, including both financial due diligence and lead advisory, with clients from different sectors.

In this role, I feel that I am constantly developing my knowledge and skills, which I have really enjoyed.

How have you found the transition from audit to corporate finance?

I believe my audit background has provided me with a good foundation for the transition and my team has supported me in adjusting to this new role. I am now keen to progress my career in corporate finance.

Which type of work have you found most interesting?

I have mostly worked on financial due diligence projects so far which I have found interesting as they have involved a lot of in-depth analysis and problem solving. I have particularly enjoyed learning how to identify the key trends and risks in a business’ performance.

In terms of your career, what are you most looking forward to?

I am currently working on my first lead advisory project which has been both interesting and informative. I am looking forward to seeing this deal through to completion and getting involved in similar projects in the future.

How will the next six months look?

In the next six months, I am hoping to work with clients from different sectors and to have a bigger role in the team.
