Experienced Forensic Accountant

(Manchester)

DTE Forensic Accounting Services is a department of DTE Business Advisory Services Limited, one of the fastest growing advisory firms in the country, with almost 200 staff offering a comprehensive range of leading-edge services throughout the United Kingdom from its offices in London,Birmingham, Manchester and Blackburn. The forensic accounting team was established in 1989 and since then has provided expert witness and litigation support services to more than 500 firms of solicitors, together with a number of commercial clients, insurance companies, local authorities and public bodies. The forensic team offers a national service from its current North West base. The principal areas of work comprise: commercial and contractual disputes; business interruption claims; business/share valuation disputes; shareholder and partnership disputes; personal injury, clinical negligence and fatal accident claims; matrimonial settlements; criminal/fraud defence and prosecution evidence; and professional negligence claims.

DTE Forensic Accounting Services are seeking to expand the forensic team in the North West and are therefore looking to recruit an experienced forensic accountant at a senior level. The successful candidate would join at salaried partner/director designate level and would work closely with the existing team. Your role will be to deal with a variety of forensic accounting assignments, but with an expected bias towards commercial litigation, share valuations and fraud defence/investigation.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have experience of acting as an expert witness and forensic accountant, commensurate with the senior nature of the position.
  • Have a good academic record, including ACA/ACCA qualification.
  • Possess strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Have experience of giving evidence in Court.
  • Be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Have good business development skills.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have the ability to manage a portfolio of assignments, and manage/train staff.
  • Be computer literate (principally Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • The ability to transfer in an existing client base would be a distinct advantage.

Salary package competitive and dependent on experience.
